How It All Began
If you’ve visited my blog then you’ve noticed that I am a scrapbooker. I love scrapbooking. I love the design/artsy/creative aspect, but I also love documenting the memories. I love to try new projects and new techniques in my pages, and I love working with my pictures.
I started out scrapping with paper in 2001. I did several books that way, but then as the kids got older and more interested in what I was doing it got harder and harder to drag all the supplies out and get things done, then clean up without cheeto fingers and peanut butter finger prints showing up on my stuff.
I gave up scrapping for an extended period of time. Ididn’t quit taking pictures, I just wasn’t doing anything with them.
In August of 2007 I discovered Photoshop and I fell in love. Well, not right away. I spent several days trying to figure out photo-editing when, on the verge of giving up, I Googled “Photoshop help.” Lots of websites came up, but one caught my eye – how to create a scrapbook page in Photoshop. I made everything on that page. I don’t know what happened to that first page, but it started something.
I scrap fully digital now. I use Photoshop Creative Suite 5 to create my pages. I also use a Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet as my mouse. I don’t use any kind of organizing program (like ACDSee or Picasa). I find I scrap faster and with less anxiety since I have an undo button and also can reuse supplies as many times as I want without worrying about having to replace them!
