Project Life 2013 | Weeks 18 + 19

I looked up the other day and realized that it was the middle of June. How does that even happen? It’s summer. The days are supposed to be longer, lazier, and yet somehow I find myself even more busy now than during the school year.

Week 18

2013PL_Wk18_L-copy2013PL_Wk18_R-copy

I didn’t take too many pictures this week. Just part of the ebb and flow of {Project} Life, I guess. I can’t think of any reason why I wouldn’t have taken more pictures. I just didn’t. Sometimes I feel like I get into a photo slump and just don’t feel like taking out the camera or the phone or whatever. It’s okay. I just went with a template for fewer pictures.

The weather was so weird that week. Crazy record-setting low temperatures, swinging back to pleasantly low spring-like weather that’s just plain unusual for our area! Oh, and in a state of domesticity I made a loaf of banana bread.

Lots of salad at the end of this week. And that weird looking blobby photo is from the carwash. It just looked pretty.

Week 19

Only sharing the left side of this week’s spread. The right side has some personal stuff on it, and just needs to stay private. But I love, love, love the salad pictures. This may actually be one of my favorite spreads this year.

Project Life 2013 | Weeks 13 + 14

I have TWO weeks of Project Life to share this week! Exciting, right?

Week 13

2013PL_Wk13_L-copy2013PL_Wk13_R-copy

This was the week that Party Boy was off work. Didn’t have much going on in the way of pictures and most were Instagram pics, so I went with it and used an Instagram style template (flipped for the facing page).

2013PL_Wk13_L-copy

I didn’t get many pictures simply because we were so very busy! It’s hard to take photos when your hands are muddy all day. But we did get lots done. The journaling all came from this blog post.

2013PL_Wk13_R-copy

And the Easter Egg Hunt! Thank goodness Jen had her camera. I’ve seen some of the pictures in the editing process and she got some great ones! Very excited to see the final set. Cause that one of the backs of everyones heads? Yeah. Not doing anything for me…

Week 14

2013PL_Wk14_L-copy2013PL_Wk14_R-copy

Totally took some advice from all of the camera/photography experts this week and changed where I was shooting.

2013PL_Wk14_L-copy

The week of the road trip with few pictures. And the ever important first tee-ball game!

2013PL_Wk14_R-copy

It was here that you can see my shift in perspective – shooting low and backing up/framing. I like the results.

I really do love this project. Really and truly – I find it a fantastic place to use as a memory catch-all, keeping up all those little bits and pieces of everyday life.

2013PL_Wk12_L-copy

The bright pretty colors of those craft kit pictures just make me really, really happy.

2013PL_Wk12_R-copy

I had to include the story of the weeping angels. And since it made sense, I figured I would include an homage to a new favorite around here: Doctor Who. We are working our way through the older seasons while the current season sits on our DVR, waiting for us to catch up.

Finally got to play with this again. And some new goodies, too.

2013PL_Wk11_L-copy

So, I don’t take a lot of food pictures, but my dinner that night was so pretty that I felt it needed to be documented. And anytime I get on the treadmill, there’s a picture involved. I really should do it often enough that it’s not an event that needs to be recorded, you know?

2013PL_Wk11_R-copy

I love it when I can include the news in my Project Life. Like the picture of the cardinals meeting. We’re not Catholic, but electing a new Pope isn’t something that happens all that often. And it was a beautiful picture.

Lower on the story ratio this week. But the stories shared are probably more meaningful. So I guess it evens out in a way.

2013PL_Wk10_L-copy

That InstaWeather picture makes it easier to understand my bitterness about the overnight low last night of 29 degrees. Seriously? And I am not the type to have a regular manicure – in fact, it’s only been in the last few months that I stopped the lifelong habit of chewing my nails off altogether, which is why I needed to include that picture. And, we did a lesson in our Bible Study class on the Shema (Deuteronomy 6:4) that included making a bracelet showing both the transliterated Hebrew (shown) and the English on the opposite side. Especially meaningful to me since I recently wrapped up a 5-week Mars Hill Sermon Series on the same topic.

2013PL_Wk10_R-copy

Loved that picture of Chaos and his wishing flower. Proof positive that the best camera is the one you have with you. Which in this case was my iPhone. Which has actually provided 100% of the pictures in this spread. Which is also okay since it has a better quality camera than my DSLR.

Project Life 2013 | Week 9

2013PL_Wk09_L-copy2013PL_Wk09_R-copy

Just wrapped up week 9 this morning. Still my favorite long term project. Mainly because I can celebrate goofy little things like the disco ball at Raising Cane’s and how happy it made me – but not on a separate page.

2013PL_Wk09_L-copy

Love celebrating the big things too, like finishing a level of spelling. Right alongside pictures of Chaos at play. In the window.

2013PL_Wk09_R-copy

That basketball game really was awful. But you know what, we had so much fun! It’s always fun to hang out with my family. Even if the activity isn’t so much fun. And the weather. Ugh. I love spring, but not the big weather swings that it takes to get it here. Also not a fan of the kids junk that I swept out from under my bed….

Project Life 2013 | Week 7

Covering Valentine’s Day this week… among other things.

2013PL_Wk07_R-copy2013PL_Wk07_L-copy

It is shaping up that I love this project as a whole, but I really, really love the weeks with more stories. I even cut some pictures so I would have more room for words. That’s something that I have never done.

2013PL_Wk07_R-copy

I love how Chaos calls Chipotle, “Chi-PO-flay.” That’s one of those things that I know will fade with time. Little mispronunciations like that don’t hang around forever.

2013PL_Wk07_L-copy

Valentine’s Day – a non-holiday here – needed a card. I also couldn’t resist putting a screenshot in of me asking Party Boy on a date. We’re not “Safe Haven” kinds of people, so we went to see “A Good Day to Die Hard.” Also, that quote? Made me laugh. So. Hard.

2013PL_Wk06_L-copy2013PL_Wk06_R-copy

Week 6 and I am still excited about this project. Well, actually it would be week 110. So there’s that.

2013PL_Wk06_L-copy

I completely covered the picture of the “Big Game.” Can’t afford to have the NFL come after this little blog for using that picture. It’s bad enough that I used the name on one of my cards.

2013PL_Wk06_R-copy

We finally put the gifts that my kids got for Christmas to work. We made a ton of cake balls (they wouldn’t stay on the stick) and fortune cookies. Then Mom and Dad came over Sunday for taste testing, but that story is for next week…

Oh, and if you’re interested, you can grab the Facebook card over on the Peppermint Creative Facebook page – they’re free!

Project Life 2013 | Week 5

2013PL_Wk05_L-copy2013PL_Wk05_R-copy

This week I included some of the pictures from Sunday, just to round out the activity that took up most of the weekend.

2013PL_Wk05_L-copy

Some more mundane items this week like ironing and dinners. Still, it’s little things like the fact that we always have corn with spaghetti that make up the patterns of life. And Pixel People? A new addiction.

2013PL_Wk05_R-copy

On Thursday night it was just me and Captain Chaos for dinner, so we went out on the town. We had a good time, and we had dessert. That was the highlight of the night, I think. And then, of course, REVO.

Project Life 2013 | Week 4

When I looked at the calendar and realized that next week’s Project Life will encompass the start of February I was really glad that I do this. Mainly because January has flown by at such an alarming rate that I know there’s stuff that I wouldn’t remember without these pages to remind me.

2013PL_Wk_04_L-copy2013PL_Wk_04_R-copy

I don’t know whether it is sad or funny that I don’t use my DSLR that much anymore. I use to rely on it completely for photos that I wanted to be in, since a timer is not in the iPhone camera. But then I discovered TimerCam (FREE) and now I don’t even use it for that. Truthfully, it’s not that I love being in pictures, but it is my life being captured here too, so…

2013PL_Wk_04_L-copy

Thought it was important to include the Inauguration  When I remember to, I like to include current events. I don’t always remember, but I think it will be nice to see and it adds context to the album to kind of see what was going on in the greater world…

2013PL_Wk_04_R-copy

The “a.m./p.m.” pictures were actually a happy accident. I didn’t consciously take those pictures with a plan, it just happened that I did. But that’s what my day looks like almost every day, so I thought it would be cool to include them that way. I had lots of pictures this week, so I used a Week In Review format to kind of wrap things up, rather than cut pictures.

Now off to my rather busy week!
